Midnight Angels
Midnight Angels is a large scale experiential performance and living art installation exploring transformation, memory, and the emotional architecture of contemporary life.
The Artist of the night art to be looked at as angels, and they arrive the way New York City arrives - without apology and without explanation. They come to create as forces of transformation and breakers of barriers
Set inside the historic halls of 530 west 27th street, a space that has long served as the heartbeat of New York City. Originally a warehouse, then the site of legendary nightlife sanctuaries like Soundfactory and Twilo - and most recently the home of a world renowned immersive theatrical performance, Sleep No More.
We inhabit this space not just as a venue - but a living participant in Midnight Muses cinematic narrative
Six painters arrange in a circle, each working simultaneously on large canvases made from the material of our time: Newsprint, printed algorithms, redacted government files and economic data.
These are not merely decorative choices ; they are visceral arguments about the nature of our reality - they illustrate how modern existence unfolds across multiple invisible structures at once.
With this circle, a violinist, guitarist, and rotating ensemble of poets perform in live dialogue with one another
The guitarist, poets and violinist carry a tone that feels both ancient and sharply contemporary. The painters respond to the rhythm, tension, silence, and vibration of the musicians
The audience itself becomes part of the choreography. There are no seats or a singular viewpoint - the audience does not sit, they rotate
The geometry of the space itself is the artistic statemnt. The circle is not a stage - it is an argument about how we see
Each discipline becomes an extension of another, creating a constantly shifting landscape where visual artist, musicians and poets collectively contribute to the same unfolding story
We are here to demonstrate that art is not a static object to be viewed - but a kinetic force that should be moved through to experience it
Midnight Angels lives somewhere suspended between a dream, a performance, and a living breathing art installation - nothing exist in isolation in this performance, just like life
Midnight Angels ask what it means to remain emotionally, spiritually and creatively human within an era shaped by data, spectacle, surveillance and fragmentation
This work creates a space for the sublime - an environment where sound, image, and human connection unfold together in real time
Come into the circle.
Rotate.
Receive.
