Roger Ridley presenting Midnight Muse: Sankofa Sessions in the Bronx, April 2026

“ Sankofa Sessions “ by Midnight Muse

Sankofa Sessions

" Sankofa " is an African term from Ghana that translating into ' go back and get it '
It represents the wisdom from learning from the past to build a better future.

In this one-of-one experience, acoustic guitar compositions unfold as a ballet dancer responds instinctively through the space - her body translating music into motion.
Surrounding them , immersive generative visuals breathe across the room, transforming the environment into a shifting canvas of color and geometry.

The use of light projections and be framed as a ' controlled fire ' that illuminates the darkness of the past rather than destroy it.

We are not simply presenting a show - we are constructing a liminal space. The line between observer and observed dissolves as the audience is enveloped in the same shroud of light as the performers

Sankofa Sessions is an invitation to be present in the ephemeral. In a world of constant digital noise and economic crisis, we offer a moment of slow visceral beauty.

This show is a reminder that to know where we are going, we must first honor where we have been.
