“ Binding The Muse “ by Midnight Muse
Binding The Muse
This performance is an exploration of polarity; the meeting point of masculine and feminine energies, of structure and flow, tension and surrender.
By fusing the discipline of Shibari with the fluidity of live painting, the suspended body becomes more than a canvas; it becomes a living altar where creation and vulnerability converge. The rope introduces tension, architecture, and containment - the masculine principle that shapes space. The brushstroke brings intuition, softness, and expression - the feminine current that moves through that space. In the air between them, the body negotiates breath, trust, and release, revealing the subtle alchemy of restraint and freedom.Because the painting exists only for a moment, this work underscores the ephemeral nature of inspiration itself and how creativity flashes, blooms, and dissolves. It is both a ritual and a study: a meditation on how art emerges not through control, but through surrenderArtist Statement, Roger Ridley
